Title Research: Thriller

                     What's up, blog! Today we are going to do research on the thriller genre using Ricochet. This title sequence is brought to you by the Watch the Titles websites. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The title sequence shown are HBO, Cinema Plus L.P, and Silver Pictures. The film was created by Russell Mulcahy. Casting was done by Robin Lippin and Fern Cassel. Produced by James Herbert and Suzanne Todd.   2.  What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The only images you can make out is that the lines are slowly filling up overtime. Could be how the music in the background has a bit of an eerie tune to it. But nothing too special. 3. What connotations do these images carry? I honestly couldn't tell you. I believe the lines barely count as an image and at that don't really represent anything. It's honestly odd so I guess it fills the thriller category. 4.  How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset?

                What's up, blog! Today we will title research the comedy genre using the movie Are We Done Yet?. This title sequence was portrayed by the Watch the Titles website. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?      The titles displayed are Revolution Studios, RKO Pictures, and Cube Vision. The film was created by Steve Carr. Casting was done by Lynne Carrow and Susan Brouse. Produced by Steve Carr, Aaron Ray, Heidi Santelli, and Derek Dauchy. 2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The animated caricature of Ice Cube being constantly hurt by the title credits. Apparently pain was just that funny. 3.  What connotations do these images carry? While not really using a camera at this point, the designer did an amazing job with the animation. It made me more invested because of the laughter I reciprocate because of the comedy. 4.                      What's up, blog! Today, we are going to look at title sequences in the action genre using The Dark Night Rises. This came from the Watch the Titles website.  What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The titles on display were Warner Bros, Syncopy, and DC Comics. This film was written by Christopher Nolan and produced by Michael Uslan. 2.  What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The images prioritized were schematics of vehicles, the Batarang, and some broken glass. There was also a newspaper and some people who look pretty important to the story. 3.  What connotations do these images carry? The connotations these images carry is foreshadowing effect. The people we see are probably going to become very important figures in the movie later.                          What's up, blog! Today we are researching The Final Destination series for the horror genre. This is coming from the Watch the Titles website.  What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? There are a few titles that were displayed during the opening sequences. They showed some of the main characters for the movies and their respective actors. They as well show the casters, visual effects designers, and producers,  2. W hat images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The images prioritized are a lot of ways to die. From the wire wrapped around te neck, the knife falling in the chest, or the ladder breaking inside the skull. These images show death and despair for the film. 3.  What connotations do these images carry? These images carry the connotations of CGI footage. It also foreshadows what is later going to happen in the movie. This is key to drawing the audience. 4.  How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? The

                          What's up, blog! Even looking at these video games and TV, these make we wonder if my existence of knowing design and film is sufficient. There are really people how aren't proficient in one category making these amazing designs. I also thought that designers for titles get recommendations for the titles. Turns out it isn't always like that. Some of them just read out the script and decide what they want for the title slides. I thought it was as simple as drawing for the producers. But no, I am wrong. One last thing I learned, CGI isn't always involved with these titles. Actually, more likely than not, they are made with plates and other elements. Other than that, not much more to learn. The title designers are obvious better than I thought at their job. I used to not view titles in such a way but I guess they are integral to the film. We should appreciate these people more and more. They appetize the entire film and we don't even notice. I
